President Smt. Droupadi Murmu addresses first historic Convocation of AIIMS Bilaspur in presence of Shri Kavinder Gupta, Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu addressed the first convocation of AIIMS Bilaspur, conferring degrees on its first graduating batch. The event was attended by dignitaries including the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and the Union Health Minister. During the ceremony, the Union Health Minister highlighted the expansion of medical education infrastructure in India over the past 12 years, citing an increase in medical colleges to over 800 and undergraduate seats to 1.42 lakh, alongside government targets to add 75,000 additional medical seats by 2029. The President commended the PM-JAY scheme for reducing financial burdens on vulnerable families and emphasized the role of medical professionals in serving remote and inaccessible areas.
