Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh to Launch First Fleet Support Ship (FSS-1), Lay Keel of FSS-5 and Inaugurate Upgraded Slipway-4 & 300-Tonne Goliath Crane at Visakhapatnam

Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh is scheduled to launch the First Fleet Support Ship (FSS-1), lay the keel of FSS-5, and inaugurate an upgraded Slipway-4 and a 300-tonne Goliath Crane at Hindustan Shipyard Limited in Visakhapatnam on October 06, 2026. Built for the Indian Navy, FSS-1 is the first of five Fleet Support Ships designed to replenish warships at sea and extend the Navy's endurance in the Indian Ocean Region. The upgraded infrastructure enables the shipyard to construct and launch vessels of up to 45,000 DWT.
