Sanchar Saathi portal crosses 30 crore visits as citizens turn Cyber Warriors against telecom fraud

The Sanchar Saathi portal, developed by the Department of Telecommunications, has surpassed 30 crore visits since its launch in May 2023. The platform allows citizens to report suspected fraud communications via Chakshu, check mobile connections issued in their name, block lost or stolen handsets, and verify device genuineness. Citizen inputs act as actionable intelligence for law enforcement agencies, banks, and telecom service providers through the Digital Intelligence Platform and the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator, preventing over ₹5,000 crore in suspected cyber-fraud losses and facilitating the recovery of more than 14 lakh lost or stolen mobile handsets.
