CAQM conducts Inspection Drive along Ring Road in Delhi to assess Road Dust and effectiveness of Road Cleaning Operations
The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) conducted a special inspection drive in Delhi on October 3, 2026, to assess road dust and the effectiveness of road cleaning operations. Four flying squad teams deployed by the Commission inspected 25 road stretches covering about 35 kilometers of the Inner and Outer Ring Road under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi. The drive reported 17 violations involving high visible road dust and the accumulation of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste. CAQM directed PWD and other concerned agencies to take priority corrective measures, emphasizing that regular sweeping and dust mitigation are critical for preventing air pollution caused by dust resuspension.
