NITI Aayog organises National Workshop on SDG Budgeting in Kolkata under the State Support Mission, in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal and UNDP

NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal and UNDP, organized a National Workshop on SDG Budgeting in Kolkata under its State Support Mission initiative. The workshop focused on aligning planning and budgeting processes with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through institutionalized SDG budget tagging at the sub-national level. It brought together participants from 32 States and Union Territories, alongside senior officials from central institutions, regulatory bodies, and development partners. Discussions centered on practical frameworks like the 'Guide on Mapping State Budgets to the SDGs', design elements of budget tagging, integration into the annual budget cycle, and enhancing private sector engagement for sustainable development outcomes.
