Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal participated in the opening day of the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting in Milwaukee, United States, hosted under the US G20 Presidency. Speaking on food and trade, he highlighted India's food security measures, including providing free foodgrains to over 800 million citizens and supplying countries in need, and emphasized that food must not be used as an instrument of pressure. G20 Trade Ministers reached a consensus on the 'G20 Statement on the Weaponization of Food through Coercive Trade Actions.' On the sidelines, the Minister held bilateral meetings with representatives from Brazil, the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Poland.
