Clarification regarding closure of Call for Proposal under Research Development & Innovation (RDI) Scheme by Technology Development Board (TDB)

The Ministry of Science & Technology issued a clarification stating that media reports claiming a shortage of funds caused the closure of the Call for Proposal under the Research Development & Innovation (RDI) Scheme by the Technology Development Board (TDB) are incorrect. According to the release, the running call was closed purely for administrative reasons due to a massive influx of project proposals. The TDB has taken a temporary pause to evaluate applications received up to September 30, 2026, and the call will reopen shortly. The ministry confirmed that there is no shortage of funds for disbursement to ETEs, and the DST/ANRF is assigning several other SLFMs in the near future.
