NITI Aayog organises National Workshop on “Viksit Panchayat: Connecting People, Places, Resources and Opportunities”- an initiative under NITI Aayog’s State Support Mission (SSM)

NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Golap Borbora State Institute of Panchayat & Rural Development, Government of Assam, organized a national workshop titled “Viksit Panchayat: Connecting People, Places, Resources and Opportunities” under its State Support Mission (SSM). Held on 28th September 2026, the workshop focused on decentralised governance, spatial planning, grassroots capacity development, digitalisation, and convergence for achieving Viksit Gram Panchayats aligned with Viksit Bharat@2047. Deliberations covered the 73rd Constitutional Amendment, activity mapping, own-source revenue mobilisation, integration of GIS and geospatial data into Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP), and strengthening District Planning Committees.
