The Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying launched the Livestock Insurance Portal under the Livestock Insurance activity of the National Livestock Mission. Developed by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, the digital platform serves as an end-to-end ecosystem for policy issuance, premium management, claim processing, beneficiary verification, and real-time monitoring. It aims to connect farmers, state governments, insurance companies, and implementing agencies on a transparent interface to safeguard rural households and farmers against financial losses from animal mortality, diseases, accidents, and natural calamities, while improving accessibility and efficiency in scheme implementation.
