Beyond the Fab

This PIB backgrounder examines the development of supporting social and physical infrastructure in Dholera, Gujarat, alongside India's semiconductor manufacturing expansion under Semicon India 1.0. Gujarat hosts six of the twelve nationally approved semiconductor projects, involving fabrication, compound semiconductors, display technologies, and advanced packaging, with total national investments exceeding ₹1.64 lakh crore. To support the specialised workforce and businesses, Dholera is developing an integrated industrial township featuring a 200-bed hospital, an International Baccalaureate curriculum school, dedicated investor accommodation, a fire station, a food court, a tent city, a hotel, and residential and commercial spaces.
