India Does Not Seek to Occupy Any Country’s Territory, But Will Safeguard Its Security and Strategic Autonomy When Threatened: Rajnath Singh
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated at a Defence Conclave in New Delhi that India does not seek to occupy any country's territory, but remains fully committed to safeguarding its security and strategic autonomy when threatened. He emphasized that there can be no dialogue with nations that use terrorism as an instrument of state policy. Highlighting India's rise as a civilizational power and trusted global partner ('Vishwa Bandhu'), he noted significant progress in indigenous defence manufacturing, self-reliance, and exports, which reached ₹38,424 crore in 2025–26. He also detailed the expansion of domestic defence corridors, the contribution of startups through iDEX, and policies like the transfer of DRDO-developed conventional missile technologies to Indian industries.
