IIWW 2026: India and Netherlands Strengthen Strategic Partnership in Water Sector

India and the Netherlands strengthened their strategic partnership in the water sector during a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 in New Delhi. Co-chaired by Union Minister for Jal Shakti Shri C. R. Patil and Netherlands Vice Minister H.E. Mr. Jaap Slootmaker, the meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation with a specific focus on the Kalpasar Project in Gujarat. Two tripartite Memoranda of Understanding were signed between the Central Water Commission, the Kalpasar Department of Gujarat, and Dutch institutions Deltares and TU Delft to advance technical cooperation, hydraulic modelling, climate resilience, and capacity building.
