From Substance Dependence to Sporting Ambition: J&K’s Sajjad's Journey of Recovery and Reintegration

This press release highlights the recovery and social reintegration of a 25-year-old individual from Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district who overcame substance dependence. His rehabilitation was facilitated by CHAARAH SAAZ, a District De-Addiction Centre (DDAC) supported under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR). Through free medical detoxification, counselling, nutritional support, skill development, and sports reintegration, he regained his health and resumed his athletic career. He now serves as a campaigner for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan to encourage other youth to choose a drug-free life.
