Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurates 9th India International Water Week 2026 at Bharat Mandapam

Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 9th India International Water Week 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. Centred on the theme "Climate Resilient Water Management," the five-day event focuses on sustainable water resource usage, conservation, and integrated management. During the event, the Vice-President launched the Sustainable Urban River Management (SURM) Framework and AI/ML-driven Integrated Reservoir Sediment Management. Highlighting India's resource constraints—holding 18 percent of the global population with only 4 percent of freshwater resources—he emphasized inter-state cooperation in water sharing, river interlinking, and public participation to achieve water, public, and national security.
