DFS Launches Nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign

The Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, has launched the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 campaign, running from 17th September to 2nd October 2026 under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat.” Participating entities include Public Sector Banks, Insurance Companies, Regional Rural Banks, and regulatory bodies like RBI, IRDAI, and PFRDA. Key activities involve transforming Cleanliness Target Units, organizing SafaiMitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivirs for sanitation workers' welfare and financial inclusion (such as PMJDY, PMJJBY, and PMSBY), executing a mass cleanliness drive on 1st October 2026, enforcing 4-way waste segregation under the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, and undertaking plantation drives.
