India’s Largest-Ever Skilled Youth Contingent Flagged Off for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship hosted a send-off ceremony in New Delhi for India’s largest-ever skilled youth contingent participating in WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. A 70-member team will represent India across 63 skill categories at the 48th WorldSkills Competition in China, including debuts in 11 new-age and emerging skill categories such as Unmanned Aerial Systems, Dental Prosthetics, and Optoelectronic Technology. The initiative underscores India's expanding skilling ecosystem, bolstered by collaborative efforts across central and state governments, industry partners, and sector skill councils. Additionally, the event marked the announcement of the first cohort of the WorldSkills India Champions Club to mentor future participants.
