Care That Goes Beyond the Prescription

The Government is expanding the reach of the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) to provide affordable healthcare products beyond medicines across more than 20,000 Janaushadhi Kendras. The initiative covers multiple life stages, including infant care through 'Janaushadhi Bachpan' (offering diapers, wipes, feeding bottles, and breast pumps), post-partum care for mothers (abdominal belts and cervical pillows), home healthcare devices (nebulizers, glucometer test strips, and pulse oximeters), and senior care through 'Jan Aushadhi Swabhiman' (adult diapers). The product basket is slated for further expansion to include mobility, rehabilitation, and supportive-care items such as knee braces, walkers, medical steam vaporizers, and pregnancy back support belts.
