NHRC, India’s two-week Online Short-Term Internship Programme in September 2026 begins

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) inaugurated its two-week Online Short-Term Internship Programme (OSTI) for September 2026 at Manav Adhikar Bhawan, New Delhi. A total of 100 university-level students from diverse academic backgrounds were shortlisted from over 1,000 applicants. The inaugural session featured addresses by Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian, Members Justice (Dr.) Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Smt. Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, and Secretary General Shri Piyush Goyal, who highlighted the importance of a human rights lens, grassroots sensitivity, and understanding diverse dimensions of human dignity. The programme includes approximately 30 lectures by eminent speakers and virtual visits to locations like police stations and Tihar Prison.
