Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah addressed Hindi Diwas 2026 and the 6th All India Official Language Conference in Mumbai as the Chief Guest. During the event, various publications including special commemorative editions related to 'Vande Mataram' and 'Rajbhasha Bharati' were released, and the Rajbhasha Kirti and Rajbhasha Gaurav Awards were presented. The Union Home Minister highlighted initiatives by the Department of Official Language, such as the expansion of the 'Hindi Shabd-Sindhu' dictionary, the AI-based translation tool 'Kanthasth 2.0', and training programs in word processing and typing. He emphasized the promotion of mother tongues and regional languages alongside Hindi in governance, education, and public administration.
