From Alcohol Dependence to Renewed Stability: Kavi's Journey towards Recovery, Responsibility and Hope

This Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment release details the recovery journey of a 31-year-old individual from Erode district, Tamil Nadu, who overcame alcohol dependence through support received under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR). The individual utilized services at the Centre for Action and Rural Education, an Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), on 7 October 2025. Through a structured recovery plan involving individual and family counselling, behavioural guidance, and relapse-prevention education, the subject attained sobriety, improved his professional and financial stability, and restored his family relationships.
