9th ASEAN–India Ministerial Meeting Reaffirms Commitment to Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Resilient Value Chains

The Ninth ASEAN-India Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Forestry (9th AIMMAF) was held in New Delhi on September 9, 2026. Co-chaired by India and the Philippines (representing ASEAN), the meeting reaffirmed mutual commitment to food security, nutrition, sustainable and low-emission agriculture, and resilient value chains. Participants reviewed progress under the 2021-2025 Plan of Action—highlighting achievements like the ASEAN-India Millets Festivals and the ASEAN-India Fellowship for Higher Education—and welcomed the upcoming Medium-Term Plan of Action for 2026-2030. Discussions emphasized digital agriculture, artificial intelligence, climate resilience, and supply chain security amid global uncertainties.
