Spiritual Strength for a Drug-Free India
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has signed Memoranda of Understanding with four spiritual organizations—Adhyatm Vigyan Satsang Kendra, Chinmaya Mission, Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, and Hare Krishna Movement—under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The partnerships aim to leverage the community networks and reach of spiritual organizations to strengthen grassroots awareness, prevention, recovery, and social mobilization against substance abuse. According to ministry statements, collective initiatives under the campaign have previously reached over 34.42 crore citizens. The collaboration seeks to integrate value-based approaches, yoga, and meditation into drug prevention efforts and reduce the stigma associated with substance use disorders.
