Fresh impetus to India-Morocco defence cooperation: Inaugural Joint Defence Committee meeting held in New Delhi
The inaugural India-Morocco Joint Defence Committee meeting was held in New Delhi on September 08, 2026, co-chaired by Joint Secretary Shri Amitabh Prasad and Brigadier General Abdellah Athmani. Both nations discussed cooperation in training and education, peacekeeping, military exercises, medical cooperation, cyber defence, and defence industries as bilateral ties approach their 70th anniversary in 2027. The Moroccan delegation interacted with Indian defence industries at DPSU Bhawan, explored avenues for co-production and technology collaboration, and scheduled a visit to the Army Hospital (Research & Referral). This meeting operates under the institutional mechanism established by a defence MoU signed during Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh's visit to Morocco in September 2025.
