At an event in New Delhi, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh stated that India’s defence forces have been granted the freedom and resources to respond decisively to threats, including striking adversaries inside their own territory. Highlighting shifts in India's defence strategy from reactive to proactive, he mentioned milestones like the abrogation of Article 370, military actions such as Surgical Strikes, the Balakot Airstrike, and Operation Sindoor, alongside the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. He emphasized that India's policy focuses on indigenous defence manufacturing, achieving Aatmanirbharta, and modernizing the security apparatus for future-ready warfare encompassing space, cyber space, and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, he noted significant growth in domestic defence production, exports, MSME participation, and the expansion of the defence budget over the past 12 years.
