Schedule for bye-elections to 05 (Five) Assembly Constituencies of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and West Bengal and 01(One) Parliamentary Constituency of Assam

The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for bye-elections to five Assembly Constituencies across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and West Bengal, and one Parliamentary Constituency in Assam. The vacancies arose primarily due to resignations. The poll process will utilize Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and VVPATs across all polling stations, with the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) serving as the main document for voter identification alongside other approved documents. The Model Code of Conduct comes into force immediately in the concerned districts. Additionally, candidates and political parties are required to publish information regarding criminal antecedents in media outlets across specified time blocks, in compliance with Supreme Court directives.
