Income Tax–Registration Departments Join Hands for Data-Driven Governance

The Directorate of Income Tax (Intelligence & Criminal Investigation), Mumbai, partnered with the Stamp Duty and Registration Department to hold a Mega Outreach Programme for Sub-Registrar Office officers across Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban Districts. The programme focused on providing guidance regarding the Statement of Financial Transaction (SFT) and Form 165 under the Income Tax Act, 2025. Discussions emphasized accurate PAN reporting, transaction values, data validation, and error rectification. Officials highlighted the shift towards technology-enabled, information-driven tax administration, wherein accurate reporting by the Registration Department aids voluntary tax compliance, risk analysis, and transparent governance.
