Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Felicitates 'Team India School Children' for Historic Best-Ever Performance with 9 Medals in the 19th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2026

Union Minister for Earth Sciences Dr. Jitendra Singh felicitated Team India school children at Prithvi Bhawan, New Delhi, for achieving a historic best-ever performance at the 19th International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2026. Held in Turin, Italy, from August 20 to 27, 2026, under the aegis of the International Geoscience Organisation, the Indian team competed against participants from 39 countries and secured nine medals comprising 4 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals. The selection pipeline involved an all-India test across 500 centers covering approximately 17,800 students, facilitated by the Geological Society of India (GSI) and supported by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) Outreach and Awareness program.
