Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal addressed the 66th SIAM Annual Convention, calling upon the Indian automotive industry to deepen localisation, expand exports, and meet global manufacturing standards. He highlighted that recent trade agreements, including operational deals with the UK and upcoming pacts with the European Union, offer significant opportunities for bilateral trade and component exports. The Minister urged companies to think globally rather than limiting themselves to the domestic market, embrace artificial intelligence to boost efficiency, and ensure product quality matches international standards. Furthermore, he outlined government support for the sector through the Critical Mineral Mission, the ₹1 lakh crore R&D Innovation Fund, plug-and-play infrastructure, and industrial parks, all aimed at achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
