Ashwini Vaishnaw Gives Directions for Improvement of Railway Safety, Technical and Maintenance-related Deficiencies

Union Minister for Railways held a safety review meeting at Rail Bhawan with senior railway officials, including the Railway Board Chairman, General Managers, and Divisional Railway Managers. Directions were issued to address signaling technical deficiencies in mission mode, ensure maintenance and replacement of Overhead Equipment past their service life, and improve workshop maintenance of coaches with focus on electrical circuits, fire safety wiring, couplers, and wheels. Emphasis was also placed on track maintenance, installation of missing fasteners, and strict punitive measures against poor-quality material suppliers, including permanent blacklisting for deliberate negligence. Additionally, officials were instructed to coordinate with district and state administrations for advance crowd management preparations during festivals and fairs.
