Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal Chairs CEO Roundtable on Ease of Doing Business for Scaling India’s Data Centre Ecosystem

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal chaired a CEO Roundtable in New Delhi to discuss ease of doing business for scaling India’s data centre ecosystem. The Minister highlighted an investment potential of USD 200 billion in the data centre industry and noted India's Q1 growth at 7.8%, pointing toward the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The roundtable focused on faster infrastructure deployment, reliable power availability, ready-to-use land banks, and streamlined single-window regulatory approvals. Discussions also covered the growing demand from cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) workloads, with hyperscalers accounting for over 80 per cent of data centre absorption in the first half of 2026. Representatives from central and state governments, along with data centre developers, participated in the consultations.
