Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal reviews Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban progress in Chandigarh; Directs Fast-track Project Implementation & Strengthening of Swachhata

Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal chaired a review meeting in Chandigarh on the progress of Swachh Bharat Mission–Urban (SBM-U). During the meeting, the Minister directed the fast-tracking of Aspirational Toilet construction and the maintenance of existing community and public toilets. He reviewed preparations for the upcoming Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign, emphasizing citizen engagement and feedback. Additionally, the Minister advocated for cross-learning and a structured city-to-city learning mechanism among Urban Local Bodies, leveraging digital tools and artificial intelligence. He expressed satisfaction with Chandigarh's progress under SBM-U 2.0 and stressed the importance of sustaining cleanliness.
