Shri Mohan Kumar Singh, Member (IT, Taxpayer Services & Technology), CBIC, released the Time Release Study (TRS) 2026 of Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH). The study, a World Customs Organization-recommended performance tool, measures cargo release and clearance times to identify bottlenecks and aid trade facilitation. The 2026 report reveals that the Average Release Time (ART) for import cargo improved to 65 hours 53 minutes (a 9.6% reduction from TRS 2025), while Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) consignments recorded an ART of 40 hours 40 minutes. For exports, the overall release time for Shipping Bills declined to 195 hours 49 minutes, with customs clearance taking an average of 2 hours 12 minutes.
