From Private Driver to Self-Employed Autorickshaw Owner: How NBCFDC Support Transformed Sunil Kumar K.P.’s Livelihood

Sunil Kumar K.P., belonging to the OBC Thiyya community in Kerala, transitioned from a low-paid private driver earning ₹5,000 per month to a self-employed autorickshaw owner through assistance from the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) Scheme. In 2022, he obtained a term loan of ₹2.69 lakh via the Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation (KSBCDC). This financial support enabled him to purchase an autorickshaw, raising his monthly income to approximately ₹20,000 and enhancing his family's financial stability and quality of life.
