NHRC, India to hold 'Open Hearing and Camp Sitting' at Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 2nd and 3rd September 2026

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India is scheduled to hold a two-day 'Open Hearing and Camp Sitting' at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on September 2nd and 3rd, 2026. Chaired by NHRC Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian along with Members Justice (Dr.) Bidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Smt. Vijaya Bharathi Sayani, the event aims to hear cases of alleged human rights violations and bonded labour from the State. The proceedings will involve complainants, state authorities, civil society organizations, NGOs, and Human Rights Defenders, followed by discussions with senior state officers and a media briefing. The NHRC has conducted such camp sittings across various States since 2007 to expedite justice.
