From Financial Inclusion to Economic Empowerment: Union Minister Smt. Annpurna Devi Hails 12 Years of the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana

Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smt. Annpurna Devi marked 12 years of the Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana, highlighting its transition from financial inclusion to economic empowerment. According to the data shared, over 59 crore Jan-Dhan accounts have been opened, with 56% belonging to women and 78% located in rural areas and small towns. Total deposits in these accounts have surpassed Rs. 3.1 lakh crore, while Rs. 53 lakh crore has been transferred directly to beneficiaries through the JAM (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) trinity.
