Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh stated that good corporate governance is central to India's development during an interaction with a delegation from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He emphasized the expanding role of corporate professionals, particularly Company Secretaries, in promoting ethical practices, institutional accountability, transparency, and responsible governance. The Minister acknowledged ICSI's initiatives in Panchayat and local-body governance, multilingual training materials, and institutional digitalisation. The delegation briefed the Minister about ICSI's membership base and its activities related to professional and secretarial standards.
