Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah celebrated Raksha Bandhan in Ahmedabad with girls from his parliamentary constituency suffering from Type-1 diabetes. Highlighting that children with Type-1 diabetes require lifelong insulin injections which impose a significant financial burden on families, the government stated it is providing free insulin for life to such children. In the Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency, children aged 0 to 18 years with Type-1 juvenile diabetes have been ensured benefits through an integrated system covering screening, diagnosis, insulin treatment, monitoring, and follow-up.
