Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) Organises Scientific Conclave on Advancing Quality, Safety and Innovation in Drugs and Phytopharmaceuticals at NIPER Guwahati

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, organised a scientific conclave at NIPER Guwahati on 27th August 2026. This first-ever conclave held in the Northeast region focused on advancing quality, safety, and innovation in drugs and phytopharmaceuticals. A major highlight of the event was the launch of seven Indian Pharmacopoeia Phytochemical Reference Standards (IPPRS) and five Indian Pharmacopoeia Botanical Reference Standards (IPBRS), including standards for Andrographolide, Capsaicin, Bacopa monnieri, and others. The initiative aims to strengthen scientific standardisation, quality assurance, and the evidence-based development of plant-based medicinal products.
