Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Reviews Summer Moong Procurement and Crop Insurance Implementation in Madhya Pradesh

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development held a virtual review meeting with Madhya Pradesh agriculture ministers regarding summer Moong procurement and crop insurance implementation. The Government of India approved a total summer Moong procurement quantity of 5,39,072 metric tonnes for Madhya Pradesh for the 2026 season, with actual procurement reaching 5.33 lakh metric tonnes through NAFED and NCCF. The meeting also discussed the Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the pending rollout of the WINDS system in the state, and the reintroduction of Crop Cutting Experiments for ground-truthing alongside technology-based yield assessments.
