Student’s Suggestion Prompts Sarbananda Sonowal to Announce Swimming Pool at Dibrugarh University

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced the construction of a swimming pool at Dibrugarh University, Assam, following a suggestion made by a student during a 'Khelo India Dialogue' interaction. The proposed facility is intended to promote competitive swimming as well as provide water-safety and life skills in the flood-prone region. Additionally, Sonowal announced that top-performing athletes from the university will be sent for a national sports excursion. The event also featured an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and an interaction with Indian football legend Baichung Bhutia.
