High-Level African Delegation and UNDP Engage with Department of Land Resources on India’s Digital Public Infrastructure in Land Governance

A high-level delegation comprising representatives from the African Union Commission, six African nations (Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Zambia), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) visited the Department of Land Resources in New Delhi to study India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) in land governance. Discussions focused on key initiatives like the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP), Bhu-Aadhaar (ULPIN), the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS), the Bharat Land Stack, and the NAKSHA urban mapping pilot programme. The technical sessions highlighted progress in computerising land records, digitising cadastral maps, and fostering South-South cooperation for inclusive, transparent land governance.
