Raksha Bandhan Celebrated with Lakhpati Didis Across the Country

The Ministry of Rural Development celebrated Raksha Bandhan with Self-Help Group (SHG) Didis and Lakhpati Didis across the country under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reaffirmed the government's commitment to women's empowerment, rural prosperity, and women-led development. The Ministry highlighted that DAY-NRLM has mobilized over 10 crore rural women into SHGs, forming a massive community network. Officials noted that the milestone of 3 crore Lakhpati Didis has been achieved, with an ongoing target to reach 6 crore Lakhpati Didis by providing continued support in skill development, affordable credit, enterprise promotion, and market linkages.
