VADM DAMIAN FERNANDO, COMMANDER OF SRI LANKA NAVY, ON AN OFFICIAL VISIT TO INDIA

Vice Admiral Damian Fernando, Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, is on an official visit to India from 26 to 29 August 2026 to strengthen bilateral maritime cooperation and Navy-to-Navy engagements. During his visit, he received a ceremonial Guard of Honour at South Block and laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. He held discussions with Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of the Naval Staff, focusing on joint operations, capacity building, training, and maritime security. He is also scheduled to meet senior defence officials, interact with the Indian defence industry, and visit naval training establishments and Headquarters Southern Naval Command in Kochi.
