Ministry Finalises Three Short Films to Strengthen Awareness against Substance Abuse

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has finalised three 60-second short films to create public awareness against substance abuse and its harmful effects. As the nodal agency for Drug Demand Reduction, the Ministry implements the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) and the flagship Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) launched on August 15, 2020. The finalised short films focus on understanding early warning signs and behavioural changes due to substance use, highlighting the National De-addiction and Tele-counselling Helpline 14446, and emphasizing the role of parents and teachers in early identification, prevention, and treatment.
