PM SVANidhi Completes One Year of Restructuring: Expanding Credit, Digital Inclusion and Livelihoods Opportunities
The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs announced the completion of one year of the restructured Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) Scheme, which was approved by the Union Cabinet on 27 August 2025. Originally launched on 1 June 2020, the restructured scheme extends lending up to 31 March 2030, targeting 1.15 crore street vendors. In its first post-restructuring year, 21.86 lakh loans worth ₹6,294 crore were disbursed to 10.56 lakh new beneficiaries. Key updates include the introduction of UPI-linked RuPay Credit Cards, an end-to-end Digital Lending Platform, a Vendor Migration Module, the expansion to Census Towns, the PM SVANidhi Startup Challenge, and plans for 50 Street Food Hubs. Since inception, the scheme has facilitated cumulative disbursements of ₹19,171 crore across more than 1.18 crore loans.
