Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the Khelo India Dialogue via video conference, emphasizing sports as a key pillar for nation-building and achieving a Viksit Bharat. Ahead of National Sports Day, he commemorated Major Dhyan Chand and noted India's historical non-participation in numerous Olympic disciplines, advocating for a targeted strategy to develop specialized ecosystems across districts for the 2036 Olympics. Highlighting the role of grassroots sports, specialized universities, and advanced training infrastructure, the Prime Minister noted that sports foster resilience, combat substance abuse, and expand professional opportunities in sports science, coaching, and analytics.
