Tribute to Goa Liberation Satyagrahis: Raksha Mantri inaugurates re-developed Hutatma Smruti Smarak at Patradevi

Raksha Mantri inaugurated the re-developed Hutatma Smruti Smarak at Patradevi, a historic site associated with Goa's liberation struggle from Portuguese rule. The event included tributes to Satyagrahis such as Karnail Singh, Sahodra Devi, and Madhukar Damodar Chaudhary. The Raksha Mantri highlighted the role of the Indian Defence Forces in the 1961 liberation of Goa (Operation Vijay) and mentioned Operation Sindoor. He also noted India's defence sector growth, pointing out increases in indigenous defence production and exports, ongoing jointness among the armed services, and the expanded participation of women in leadership and military roles.
