CAQM conducts Special Surprise Inspection drive in Loni, Ghaziabad; 28 premises inspected, 16 units/ premises sealed and strict action(s) taken against defaulters
The Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) conducted a special surprise inspection drive under Operation Clean Air in Loni, Ghaziabad. Deployed flying squads, magistrates, police, and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board officials inspected 28 industrial premises, finding all of them non-compliant with environmental norms. Major violations included operating without valid Consent to Operate, using unapproved fuels like wood and coal, running furnaces without Air Pollution Control Devices, and engaging in illegal industrial activities. Consequently, 16 units were sealed, show-cause notices were served, and premises notices were issued. The CAQM stated that such enforcement drives will continue across the NCR.
