Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal Chairs India-Japan Industry Roundtable on Semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence in Tokyo

The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry chaired the India-Japan Industry Roundtable on Semiconductors and Artificial Intelligence in Tokyo, emphasizing economic and technological cooperation between the two nations. The Minister noted that domestic semiconductor demand is projected to reach USD 150 billion by 2032 and outlined India's semiconductor strategy, including funding allocations under Semicon India 1.0 and 2.0. Additionally, he held a bilateral meeting with Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, where both agreed to accelerate the review of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and discussed progress toward private investment targets.
