Ministry of Rural Development Participates in World Water Week 2026 in Stockholm

The Ministry of Rural Development participated in World Water Week 2026 in Stockholm, Sweden, to showcase India's community-led water security and rural development initiatives. Represented by Joint Secretary Rohini R. Bhajibhakre, India highlighted its Water Vision @2047 and Viksit Bharat @2047 frameworks, alongside flagship schemes like the Jal Jeevan Mission, the National Initiative on Water Security (NIWS), and the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin): VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. The discussions emphasized integrating digital public infrastructure—such as the Yuktdhara Geospatial Planning Platform, E-Jal Application, and E-Saksham—with decentralized grassroots planning through Gram Panchayats and local committees to foster climate resilience and sustainable resource management.
